Windy Palm Springs Desert Elopement

I’m leavin’ on a jet plane...

Well, 3 jet planes actually. lol. I flew up and down the west coast to make it in to Palm Springs in time for this windy desert elopement with Koren and Joe. Palm Springs is insta famous for the windmill photo shoots, and if you hadn’t gathered by their name…its WINDY. Like mach 4, almost knock you off your feet windy!

When we hopped out of the van it was instant shock as we all gripped our things. We took off and headed for Shiprock, a historic desert area showing off its iconic monolith that’s said to resemble a Spanish ship, hoping to at least get a little break from the wind behind the huge rock!

One of things I love most about photography is that even in a chaotic wind storm, we can look at these images and say, wow. This is amazing! We never know what Mother Nature will throw at us on wedding days, but we can always adapt and make it work.

This evening in Palm Springs was a way for Koren and Joe to get portraits before their ceremony with friends and family the following day. It provided them the option to see each other in a more intimate setting. To make sure the focus was on each other. And to have portraits in the Southern California desert landscape.

No matter how quick the session is, or what weather is thrown our way, I’m here for it!
